During Nicola Woods’s South African adventure in 2008, she was given the challenge of working with a small cooperative, headed by Mrs. Mlambo, to create a sustainable design for which the cooperative could take full ownership.
The loss of Mrs. Mlambo and Co’s workshop due to financial constraints meant that a clothing range was out of the question. With no equipment, masses of ingenuity and all hands on deck, Nicola created a collection using colourful knotted strings.
Following intense training, designs were passed over to Mrs. Mlambo and her team, who are currently working hard to meet their order. This order is exclusive to Mrs. Mlambo and Tabeisa.
