The critically acclaimed SS10 collection, Miss Butterfly, was inspired by Giacomo Puccini's, Madam Butterfly.
The collection is produced from Japanese vintage kimonos (dating back to the 1940's), vintage saris, Ahimsa peace silk, Fair-Trade organic jacquard, handloom cotton, and bamboo jersey.
Embellishments and accessories for Miss Butterfly are hand-made by a small cooperative (Umdoni Creek) that Beautiful Soul set up in South Africa in 2008 and feature indigenous up-cycled ingredients and fabric remnants.
Each style borrows its name from a famous Japanese Geisha and is developed carefully throughout the design process, with a strong emphasis being placed on product longevity, garment adjustability and multi functionality.
Manufacture and production is London based.
